Privacy Policy

Classy Pigeon LLC ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") operates the idXpresso application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our App.

1. On-Device Processing

idXpresso performs all image analysis, facial recognition, and data processing entirely on your device. No photographs, facial data, biometric templates, recognition results, or personal information are transmitted to external servers, cloud services, or third parties.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store:

• Photographs or images
• Facial recognition data or biometric identifiers
• Identity databases or recognition templates
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Crash reports or diagnostic data
• Location data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• Identity database: Names, titles, and facial encoding vectors you create. Stored in an encrypted SQLite database within the App's sandboxed container.
• Application preferences: Settings such as window positions, recent files, and feature preferences. Stored in standard macOS UserDefaults.
• Security-scoped bookmarks: File system access permissions for folders you grant the App access to (e.g., watch folders, backup locations).

All locally stored data remains under your sole control. You may delete this data at any time by removing the App and its associated data from your Mac.

4. Apple Subscription Services

If you subscribe to idXpresso Pro, the subscription transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, process, or store your payment information. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We receive only the subscription status (active, expired, or cancelled) necessary to determine which features to unlock. No payment details, Apple ID credentials, or billing information are accessible to the App.

5. Third-Party Services

idXpresso does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. The App does not contain any third-party SDKs that collect user data.

The App uses the following third-party components for on-device processing only:

• ONNX Runtime: Machine learning inference engine for face detection and recognition. Runs entirely on-device with no network communication.
• ExifTool: Metadata reading and writing tool for JPEG files. Operates on local files only.

6. Network Communication

The App communicates with the network only for:

• Apple StoreKit: To verify subscription status and process in-app purchases. This communication is between your device and Apple's servers, governed by Apple's privacy practices.
• Seed Photo Downloads (optional, user-initiated): When you provide a URL for an identity's reference photo (e.g., from Wikipedia), the App downloads that image using a temporary session with no cookies, no disk cache, and no persistent storage. Your IP address is visible to the hosting server. No user data, identity names, or app identifiers are included in the request.

No data is sent to the Developer or any third party. The App contains no analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services.

7. Children's Privacy

idXpresso is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect any personal information from any user, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.

8. Data Security

All facial recognition data is stored in an encrypted database using AES-256 encryption with a key stored in the macOS Keychain. The App operates within the macOS App Sandbox, which restricts file system access to user-approved locations.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be included in future versions of the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
